Sustainability
at Custom Fleet

At Custom Fleet, we’re whole-heartedly committed to Driving a Regenerative Future for our planet, our people, our business and our customers. This means, accelerating sustainable innovation, reducing our emissions, creating and fostering equitable opportunities, and uplifting the communities we’re part of. For us, sustainability isn’t a side initiative — it’s integral to who we are and how we grow.

Sustainability strategy: 2025-2030

In 2025, we launched our sustainability strategy to help us make positive impact in the areas that matter most to our stakeholders.

Meeting ambition with action, we’ve identified a number of 2030 targets that will enable us to track our progress.

These are designed to address priority areas across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), where we can create meaningful and lasting change.

Planet

Reforest partnership

In 2025, we launched our partnership with Reforest, a social enterprise that helps businesses take nature-positive action through tree planting programs.

Why trees?

Our view is that decarbonisation is the most effective method of reducing our environmental impact, and that efforts to remove carbon do not compensate for our emissions. However, trees are a powerful force in regenerating our planet. They help combat climate change, support biodiversity, and create vital habitats.

Electrifying our internal fleet

We’re leading by example—100% of our internal fleet in Australia and New Zealand is now electric.

This major step reduces our Scope 1 emissions and allows us to share real-world EV experience with our customers.

Science Based Targets

We’re part of Element Fleet Management’s validated Science-based Targets initiative (SBTi) committing to:

  • Reducing our absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 63.70% by 2034 from a 2019 base year
  • Reduce Scope 3 emissions from leased assets and sold products by 66.4% per USD value added by 2034.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

Our industry leading Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Strategy explains our ongoing commitment to remaining an inclusive place for people to work.

Fostering an inclusive culture is critical to ensure all employees feel welcome, safe, and engaged at work.

Our DEIB strategy strengthens our employee value proposition as we continue to work towards being a top employer of choice for diverse talent.

Our Diversity network Diversity network

Custom Fleet’s Diversity network – called Intersection – drives awareness, learning, recognition, and celebration of all things DEIB.

Each stream of Intersection leads a program of work to solidify our employer of choice status including:

  • Delivery of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inclusion
  • Achieving the Australian Workplace Equality Index Awards Gold Status for LGBTQI+ inclusion
  • Achieving the WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation for gender equality

Custom Fleet crew can volunteer to join of one or more of these workstreams, to be part of driving positive change within our business.

For many of our people, this is a passion project, and you’ll find our senior leadership team members attending these meetings, too.

Community engagement through Custom Cares Custom cares

Our commitment to achieving a better future for all is also reflected in our Volunteers Committee, known as Custom Cares.

Through Custom Cares, we aim to regenerate hope and connection by caring for those who are vulnerable in our community, and these include:

  1. Minority groups
  2. People with disability
  3. Women and children
  4. The environment

Our current community partners include: The Salvation Army, Brotherhood of St Laurence, The Cancer Council, Killara Foundation, First Nations, and the Middlemore Foundation.

We’ll continue to look for opportunities to contribute to meaningful causes and to create a positive impact on our community.
