Custom Fleet leads conversation on sustainable mobility at the 2025 Sustainability Leadership Summit

As a Diamond Partner of the 2025 Sustainability Leadership Summit, Custom Fleet proudly facilitated a discussion on how smart mobility is driving sustainable change across government and business fleets.

Our Sustainability Specialist, Caitlin Duggan, joined Lance McGhie, Principal Advisor Workplace Development, Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, for a keynote session titled: “Safe, Smart, and Sustainable: Redesigning the EDDU Fleet for the Future.”

Transforming fleets through collaboration and innovation

Their session explored how collaboration, innovation, and data-led design are reshaping what’s possible in fleet transformation.

Together, Caitlin and Lance highlighted the modernisation of the Aviation Security Service’s Explosive Detector Dog Unit (EDDU) fleet – a partnership with Custom Fleet and Wade Group.

The results speak for themselves:

  • 40% reduction in emissions* through hybrid vehicle adoption
  • Improved safety and welfare for both handlers and dogs
  • Turnkey delivery for immediate operational readiness
  • A clear roadmap to full electrification

Sustainability that works for everyone

As Caitlin noted during the discussion:

Sustainability in fleet isn’t about compromise — it’s about creating solutions that work better for people, the planet, and performance.

This philosophy reflects how Custom Fleet approaches every customer partnership — finding practical, scalable ways to balance environmental impact with operational excellence.

Driving intelligent mobility across Australia and New Zealand

Throughout the Summit, our team connected with sustainability leaders from across industries to explore how intelligent mobility can help organisations meet their emissions targets while improving efficiency and safety.

As a diamond partner, Custom Fleet was proud share real-world insights and lessons learned from our work with fleets across Australia and New Zealand — demonstrating that sustainable transformation is already happening today.

Looking ahead

This year’s Summit reinforced our purpose: to move the world through intelligent mobility.

By putting our customers at the centre and designing for the future, we’re helping organisations create safer, smarter, and more sustainable fleets — one project at a time.
